The article considers peculiarities of sustainable finance focusing on the green banking analysis. The author analyzes approaches that make it possible to define the significance of sustainability issues for a commercial bank taking into account the level of environmental management and stage of sustainability of a financial institute. One of the highlights of the research is studying instruments of green finance, as well as international and national initiatives in the sphere of green banking. Besides, the author describes main elements of green banking in the Republic of Belarus and suggests recommendations for further development.
